Nowhere is the true spirit of Christmas felt more
keenly than in activities and services at church.
Each year, we receive a holiday program
calendar and make note of the services we
don't want to miss. Our favorites are the
children's pageant with plays and music
(there is nothing quite like the sweet voices
of little children singing a Christmas hymn),
the live Nativity, the combined choir concert
and the candlelight service on Christmas Eve.
Adding these very special moments to your
Christmas family traditions brings harmony,
simplicity and togetherness to a season that
can be all too stressful and materialistic. If
these activities are not offered at your local
church, contact other area churches; try
denominations different from your own.
The programs can be interesting and
educational. You won't regret it!
